Launch your career in sports turf management at one of Sydney's premier golf clubs.
Strathfield Golf Club is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our Course Maintenance team for an immediate start.
Whether you're looking to begin a rewarding career or are already completing an apprenticeship and looking for a new opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
Working alongside our experienced Course Superintendent and qualified Greenkeepers, you'll receive hands-on training in all aspects of golf course maintenance while completing your nationally recognized apprenticeship through Ryde TAFE (one day per week).
What You'll LearnThroughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain practical skills and experience in:
Golf course presentation and maintenance
Mowing greens, tees, fairways and roughs
Course setup for daily play and tournaments
Bunker preparation and maintenance
Irrigation systems
Turf nutrition and plant health
Machinery operation and maintenance
Safe work practices and the use of professional turf equipment
No two days are the same, and you'll develop skills that can lead to a long-term career in the golf and sports turf industry.
What We OfferImmediate start available
Full-time apprenticeship (38 hours per week)
One paid day per week at Ryde TAFE
All uniforms and PPE supplied
Supportive and experienced team
Modern equipment and excellent training
Weekend work on a rotating roster with penalty rates
Overtime opportunities during course renovations and major events
The opportunity to play golf after work on most afternoons
Excellent career progression within the turf industry
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday
5:30 am – 2:00 pm
Wednesday
4:30 am – 8:30 am
Our unique Wednesday schedule gives you the rest of the day free, helping create a great work-life balance while completing your apprenticeship.

Has a genuine interest in sport, turf or the outdoors (golf knowledge is an advantage but not essential)
