About the role

Cowie Collision Centre Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Panel Beater to join our team in Beenleigh, QLD. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable automotive collision repair specialist. As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in restoring vehicles to their original condition following collision damage, utilising both traditional and modern repair techniques. This position is integral to our service delivery, ensuring our clients receive high-quality repairs and outstanding customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and determine the extent of panel work required

• Remove and replace damaged body panels, doors, and structural components

• Use specialised equipment and tools to straighten and reshape damaged metal panels

• Prepare panels for painting by filling, sanding, and smoothing surfaces

• Perform welding operations where necessary to repair structural damage

• Ensure all repairs comply with vehicle safety standards and manufacturer specifications

• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used

• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair progress and timelines

• Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment

• Collaborate with other team members including spray painters and mechanics

What we're looking for

• Completed apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in panel beating or automotive body repair

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in panel beating or automotive collision repair

• Proficiency with panel beating tools and equipment, including hammers, dollies, welding equipment, and measurement devices

• Knowledge of vehicle construction, materials, and structural repair techniques

• Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to automotive repair work

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality repairs

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude

• Physical fitness and ability to work in various positions for extended periods

• Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Current driver's license (desirable)
