Trainee Pest Technician

About the role

We are looking for a hard-working, independent individual to join our growing family business. No experience is required for this position, with full on-the-job training provided, TAFE fees covered, and a full-time salary from day one.

This is a customer-facing role where you’ll be attending to a variety of pest issues in domestic and commercial environments. Unique to the industry, in this role you’ll be busy battling insects in the summer and pivoting to gutter cleaning in the winter, with termite work year-round (under supervision while a trainee).

Key responsibilities

• Attend to a variety of pest issues in domestic and commercial environments.

• Maintaining accurate records and reports of inspections and treatments.

• Advising customers on preventative measures and pest-proofing.

• Following chemical handling, workplace health and safety, and environmental regulations.

• Using and maintaining pest-control equipment and vehicles.

• Communicating professionally with customers and explaining treatment procedures.

• Perform gutter cleaning, including removal of debris, leaves and inspection for blockages or damage.

About you

• Must be committed to completing a Certificate III in Pest Management (approximately 12 months)

• Full working rights in Australia

• Have, or be willing to obtain, a pre-employment medical, police clearance and working with children check

• Current driver's licence (provisional driver's licence accepted)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ideally with experience in a customer-facing role

• Ability to work independently

• Physically fit and able to lift, climb and crawl into tight spaces
