About the role
Job title: Steel Scheduler – Reinforcement Detailer (Pile Cages)Company: Sydney Pile CagesLocation: Blacktown, NSW (on-site)Workplace type: On-siteJob type: Full-time
About Sydney Pile CagesSydney Pile Cages (SPC) fabricates reinforcement pile cages for private developments, government projects and major infrastructure across NSW, SA and QLD. We supply Tier 1 contractors and their subcontractors on critical infrastructure, and we run the largest fully automated pile cage machine in Australia. Everything we make is manufactured to AS/NZS standards, ISO 9001 and backed by ACRS accreditation. We’re growing, including interstate, and building the scheduling team to match.
The roleReporting to the Scheduling Manager, you’ll interpret engineering drawings and specifications and turn them into accurate reinforcement schedules and detailing for pile cages. You’re the link between the engineer’s design, the client’s approval and the cage that gets welded. Accuracy here is not a nice-to-have – every error becomes steel.
What you’ll do• Interpret structural and piling drawings and specifications• Prepare reinforcement schedules and detailing for pile cages using aSa (or similar)• Raise RFIs with clients and engineers to confirm design intent before steel is cut• Issue schedules and drawings for approval and follow them through to sign-off• Optimise cage designs for fabrication on our automated line• Check and revise schedules; resolve design and site queries as they come up• Work day-to-day with production and project teams on workflow planning so cages are built safely, accurately and on time• Grow with the team as we expand interstate
Who we’re looking for – two ways inPathway 1: Experienced scheduler• Around 1 years scheduling reinforcement using aSa or similar• Ready for more varied, more technical work than slabs and footings• We’ll train you on pile cages and our systems
Pathway 2: Junior engineer• Civil or structural engineering degree, or equivalent• Practical knowledge of piling or construction• Keen to learn scheduling software and the fabrication process – we’ll train you from the ground up
Either way, you• Read drawings carefully and ask when something doesn’t add up• Are accurate and own your work• Communicate clearly with clients, engineers and the floor• Turn up, follow through, and want to get better at this
What we offer• Structured training on software and pile cage scheduling from experienced schedulers• Tier 1 infrastructure, government and commercial projects across three states• A growing business with interstate expansion – real progression, not a promise• A small team with direct access to the Scheduling Manager and leadership
Details• Full-time, permanent• Based at Blacktown NSW, 100% on-site – no remote or hybrid• Must have full Australian working rights• Start: Immediate
