HC Truck Driver – Casual (Newcastle)

About the role

Casual heavy vehicle driver required for Cemba Logistics Pty Ltd, based at our Beresfield site in Newcastle NSW. This role covers a guaranteed Friday shift each week driving a rigid, delivering pallets around Newcastle, plus additional shifts to cover annual leave, sick leave, and busy periods across our Newcastle operation. Most work is local rigid deliveries, with the flexibility and willingness to step into our semi role when needed. This is a day shift only position with no overnight driving.

Key responsibilities

• Operating heavy vehicle trucks (HC licence required) — primarily rigid, with capability to cover our semi when required

• Loading and restraining freight

• Completing pre-start checks, inspections, and basic maintenance

• Maintaining records (log books, paperwork)

• Port deliveries once MSIC accredited (training/accreditation support provided)

About you

• Current HC licence with at least 2 years' experience

• Clean driving record

• Experience with load restraint and safe manual handling

• Willing to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) to support occasional port deliveries — we'll cover the cost and process

• Available every Friday, with flexibility for ad hoc shifts covering leave and peak periods

• Strong focus on safety, fitness, and reliability
