Cleaner & General Maintenance Assistant

About the role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in keeping facilities clean, safe, presentable and in good working order. The role combines regular cleaning duties with general maintenance and facilities support as required within a busy trades training environment.

Key responsibilities

• General cleaning of classrooms, training rooms and practical workshop areas

• Cleaning and sanitising toilets, bathrooms and staff amenities

• Cleaning office areas, reception areas, kitchens and common areas

• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors

• Emptying bins and managing general waste and recycling

• Cleaning desks, benches, tables, doors, windows and other surfaces

• Restocking toilet paper, paper towel, soap and other consumables

• Periodic deeper cleaning of classrooms, offices and amenities

• Keeping entrances, walkways and common areas clean and presentable

• Ensuring classrooms and training areas are clean and ready for use

• Minor repairs and general handyman tasks

• Basic maintenance of classrooms, offices, workshops, furniture and facilities

• Assembly, installation or relocation of furniture, fixtures and equipment

• Minor painting, patching and general upkeep

• Identifying and reporting maintenance, damage or safety issues

• Maintaining basic tools, cleaning supplies and maintenance consumables

• Assisting with the setup of classrooms, workshops and training areas

• Assisting contractors and tradespeople where required
