Material Planner

The Company:
Dana Australia supplies power conveyance and energy management solutions for the Commercial Vehicle, Aftermarket, Electrification and Light Vehicle markets.

Following continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team in a full-time, office-based role.

The Role

As a member of the Supply Chain team, the Material Planner is responsible for overseeing activities associated with ensuring availability of components in line with production requirements and customer demand for a nominated list of Suppliers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Timely creation and management of purchase orders based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) output or as required to ensure supply continuity

• Monitoring, follow up & updating of open purchase orders by liaising with suppliers to ensure on time delivery & resolving supply disruptions

• Coordinate with suppliers on critical part deliveries, ensuring that recovery plans are provided to mitigate supply risks

• Follow up and close out of any shipping discrepancies as notified by Warehouse

• Liaise with Freight Providers regarding collection, shipping details and delivery of goods

• Maintain accurate records for Item Data within ERP system

• Monitor / Maintain inventory levels in accordance with policies and procedures

• Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth operations
  

The successful candidate

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

• Bachelor or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field

• Experience in material planning or inventory control within a manufacturing environment

• Material Planning experience for 5+ years

• Working knowledge of SAP

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines

• Experience working with internal stakeholders and suppliers

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• High attention to detail and reporting accuracy
