About the role
Founded in 1990 and proudly Australian owned and operated, Mermed is an established manufacturer of healthcare and industrial labelling solutions.
Our products are used by hospitals, healthcare providers and businesses across Australia, supporting reliable identification, traceability, patient safety and operational efficiency.
As demand for our products continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Flexographic Press Operator to join our Sydney production team.
About the RoleReporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the setup, operation and troubleshooting of our flexographic press, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of print quality, safety and efficiency.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced operator who takes pride in producing quality work, has strong mechanical and problem-solving skills, and is comfortable taking ownership of their press and production outcomes.
Your experience will be valued, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas that improve quality, reduce downtime and make our production processes more efficient.
Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate the flexographic press to meet production schedules and quality requirements
Monitor print quality and make adjustments to maintain consistent output and colour accuracy
Troubleshoot press faults and production issues to minimise downtime
Perform routine and preventative maintenance
Complete quality inspections and ensure finished products meet required specifications
Maintain accurate production and quality records
Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment
Work collaboratively with the production team to achieve production targets and identify opportunities for improvement
Work on other production machines, equipment and processes, as required by the Operations Manager
Previous experience operating flexographic printing presses is essential.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience with flexographic press setup, operation and changeovers
Strong mechanical aptitude with practical troubleshooting and fault finding skills
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing consistently high-quality work
A commitment to quality and workplace safety
The ability to work independently, take ownership and meet production deadlines
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
It would be an advantage if you also have:
Experience in the label, packaging, printing or healthcare manufacturing industries
Experience working within an ISO-certified manufacturing environment
Preventative maintenance or machine servicing experience
Experience with continuous improvement or process optimisation
An interest in learning new skills and becoming multi-skilled across other production equipment
$85,000 salary
