Plumber / Drainer / 4th-Year Apprentice

Residential, New Builds, Maintenance, Civil and Wastewater $50–$70 per hour

Full-time, part-time and contractor arrangements available

J&J Plumbing & Gas Services is looking for another quality tradesperson to join our growing team on the Sunshine Coast.

We are open to hearing from:

• Experienced plumbers and drainers

• Fourth-year plumbing apprentices

• Subcontractors looking for consistent work

• Motivated tradespeople wanting to broaden their experience

This is a varied role covering residential plumbing, new builds, maintenance, civil drainage, commercial plumbing and wastewater systems.

We are looking for the right person, not just the perfect résumé. You may already be an experienced tradesperson capable of running jobs independently, or you may be younger, motivated and ready to learn.

The work

Depending on your experience, your work may include:

• Residential plumbing and drainage

• New homes, renovations and extensions

• General plumbing maintenance and repairs

• Hot-water system installations and replacements

• Water leaks, blocked drains and drainage repairs

• Roof plumbing and stormwater repairs

• Rainwater tanks, pumps and filtration systems

• Civil plumbing and drainage installations

• Commercial sanitary drainage and trade-waste systems

• Wastewater treatment plant and septic system installations

• Land application areas and treated-effluent disposal systems

• Pump wells, pump stations and associated pipework

• HDPE pipework and electrofusion welding

• Underground water and drainage services

• Excavation, trench preparation, pipe bedding and backfilling

• Testing, commissioning and compliant completion of installations

Our current workload includes residential new builds, property maintenance, rural wastewater systems, advanced secondary treatment plants, commercial hydraulic installations and civil drainage projects across the Sunshine Coast.

What we are looking for

You will ideally have:

• A Queensland plumbing and drainage licence, or be completing your fourth year

• Experience in residential plumbing, new builds or maintenance

• A strong work ethic and pride in the quality of your work

• The ability to work independently and as part of a small team

• Good communication and customer-service skills

• A practical approach to problem-solving

• A current driver’s licence

• A solid understanding of workplace safety

• Reliability and a positive attitude

Experience with excavators, civil drainage, wastewater systems, HDPE, maintenance or commercial plumbing will be highly regarded but is not essential for the right person.
