About the role
We are seeking a temporary, flexible full-time Court Liaison Officer to work with the relevant Child Safety Service Centres and Youth Justice Service Centres, and other stakeholders to facilitate case work and planning for these dual clients in responding to matters under the Youth Justice Act 1992. This role sits within Child Safety and is the point of liaison for children and young people who are clients of the Department in relation to the Child Protection Act 1999 and will attend court events arising under the Youth Justice Act 1992. And is based within Statewide Operations and reports to a Senior Court Liaison Officer, Court Services. This position is based in Townsville and some intrastate travel will be required.

Your responsibilities
As a Court Liaison Officer you will:
Delegations
The position holds a statutory delegation pursuant to section 13 of the Child Protection Act 1999, where the Chief Executive has guardianship of a child, and an authorisation in other circumstances to attend court to assist by sharing information as to the extent of child safety intervention that has occurred in relation to the young person appearing as a defendant pursuant to the Youth Justice Act 1992, and by providing authoritative advice as to the available services that may provide support to those children.
This position is aligned to the Individual Contributor profile of the Queensland Public Service Leadership competencies for Queensland. To be successful in this role, you will be required to demonstrate capability in the areas detailed within the Candidate Information Package.
This position reports to the Senior Court Liaison Officer.
