Service Manager

Are you a hands-on Service Manager with a solid track record in mechanical equipment service, repairs and maintenance? Transmin is looking for an experienced leader to drive the growth and performance of our Aftermarket Service department.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a full P&L, lead a multi-disciplinary service team, and play a genuine role in shaping the future of our service business across the mining, minerals processing and materials handling sectors.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Aftermarket, you will lead a team including Service Project Managers, Site Service Supervisors, Service Fitters and a Service Business Development Manager. You will be accountable for the commercial and operational performance of the service unit, while working closely with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales and Workshop teams to deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing strategies to grow the service department through rebuild, repair and maintenance work
• Owning the P&L for the service business unit, including sales, margin and net profit targets
• Approving service job quotes, proposals and commissioning reports
• Leading and developing a technical service team, identifying skills gaps and delivering training
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Preparing and presenting competitive proposals to new and existing clients
• Planning and completing service sales trips to grow the business and strengthen client relationships
• Driving WHSE and quality standards across all service activities
• Using CRM and ERP systems to manage the sales pipeline and support reporting

About You

You are a commercially minded operator with strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine hands-on style. You know how to build trust with clients, lead a technical team and deliver against budget and revenue targets.

You will bring:

• 5+ years' experience in a technical, mechanical engineering or service management role, ideally within mining or industrial equipment supply
• A demonstrated and measurable track record in the sale and/or growth of fixed mechanical equipment service, repairs and maintenance
• An established network within mining, minerals processing, civil construction or materials handling highly regarded
• Strong understanding of mining processes and the ability to identify and qualify service opportunities on site
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to adapt your approach across different client levels
• Sound commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting and P&L accountability
• A relevant trade or tertiary qualification in management or engineering (desirable)
• A current unrestricted driver's licence (Class C)
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office, and ideally exposure to ERP (MS Dynamics NAV) and CRM (MS Dynamics CRM) systems

You should be comfortable with domestic travel, with occasional overseas travel also possible.
