About the role:We're looking for a YouTube Strategist to own our YouTube channel end to end, growing it into a genuine destination for injured workers, employers, and referrers looking for trustworthy recovery content. You'll write the scripts, film the content, edit it, and use data to continually sharpen what we publish and how it performs. You'll also lend your video and content skills to support our Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok channels, and to help produce video ads for our paid campaigns.
This is a hands-on specialist role for someone who lives and breathes YouTube: the algorithm, audience retention, thumbnails, titles, and the craft of turning long-form and short-form video into real channel growth. You'll be across the whole process yourself, from script to filming and publishing, while partnering closely with our marketing team. This is a Sydney-based role, in office 5 days a week.
What you'll do:Channel strategy & growthOwn the YouTube content strategy, roadmap, and publishing calendar end to end.Set and track goals for subscriber growth, watch time, and audience retention.Research the YouTube algorithm and platform updates, and adapt strategy as it evolves.Identify content pillars, series, and formats that build a loyal, returning audience.Benchmark competitors and adjacent channels to spot gaps and opportunities.
Scripting, filming & editingCreate scripts for long-form videos and YouTube Shorts that are engaging, relatable, and on-brand.Turn podcast episodes and real-life recovery stories into compelling video content.Write hooks, titles, and structures optimised for watch time and click-through.
Optimisation & publishingWrite and test titles, thumbnails, descriptions, tags, and chapters for maximum discoverability.Manage the publishing schedule, playlists, end screens, and channel page.Apply YouTube SEO best practice to help videos rank in search and suggested feeds.Run A/B tests on thumbnails and titles, and act on the results.
Analytics & reportingMonitor YouTube Studio analytics: views, retention curves, click-through rate, and traffic sources.Turn performance data into clear, actionable recommendations for future content.Report regularly on channel growth and campaign performance to the wider team.Test different hooks, formats, and angles to see what resonates best with our audience.
Collaboration & other channelsWork closely with the video and design team to align messaging and visuals.Adapt tone and voice for different audiences: injured workers, employers, insurers, and medical professionals.Liaise with hosts and subject matter experts to plan filming and shoot days.Repurpose YouTube content into short-form video for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.Assist more broadly with our Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok content and posting schedule.Assist with paid campaigns across YouTube and social platforms.
What we're looking for:Based in Sydney and able to work from our office 5 days a week.3+ years' experience managing or growing a YouTube channel, with measurable results.Hands-on experience writing scripts, from concept through to final cut.Proven understanding of the YouTube algorithm, audience retention, and channel analytics.Comfort creating and repurposing content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, not just YouTube.Experience producing video ads for paid social/YouTube campaigns is a strong plus.Solid grasp of YouTube SEO: keyword research, titles, descriptions, and tagging.Experience turning performance data into content decisions, not just reporting on it.Comfortable receiving and acting on feedback, with a collaborative, positive approach.Experience with podcast-to-video repurposing, Shorts strategy, or paid video promotion.Creative, collaborative, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic.Willingness to undergo a reference check as part of the recruitment process.
Why join us:Be part of a purpose-driven team improving lives through helping injured workers recover.Build a YouTube channel from the ground up and see the direct impact of your strategy.Flexible, supportive team culture focused on outcomes and creativity.See your work make a real impact on people's recovery journeys.
How to apply:Please send us your resume and a portfolio or examples of YouTube channels you've grown (with results) and join us in creating video content that makes workplace injury recovery better, one recovery at a time.
