About the role
Eclipse Environmental Australia is a leading provider of environmental equipment, servicing, and compliance solutions. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team.
The RoleAs a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of environmental monitoring equipment and systems. You’ll work both independently and alongside our experienced team to ensure clients receive exceptional service and dependable, compliant solutions.
Primarily responsible for installation and mechanical works — installing workshop equipment, pumps, pipework, reels, compressors, oil/water separator components and other mechanical equipment; fabrication/modification; drilling and mounting; alignment; replacing bearings/seals; hydraulic and pneumatic work; and assisting with larger installation projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled service workshop, wash bay plant, maintenance, and repairs on environmental systems and equipment
Install new equipment, conduct commissioning, and provide technical support to clients
Complete service reports, documentation, and compliance records accurately
Diagnose faults and provide effective solutions onsite or remotely
Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service while representing the company
Adhere to company safety procedures and relevant environmental standards
Participate in ongoing training and contribute to continuous improvement processes
We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable, and eager to develop their technical skills.
Essential:
Mechanical or electrical aptitude, or experience in a technical/field service role
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Current driver’s license
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Good communication skills and a commitment to customer service
Desirable:
Experience with environmental monitoring equipment, pumps, sensors, or related systems
Electrical, mechanical, or trade qualification
White Card or relevant safety certifications
Understanding of environmental compliance or industry regulations
