Automotive Fitter / Auto Electrical Assistant – Part Time

Are you studying Automotive Electrical, Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and looking for practical experience that will help you build your career?

Vquip is looking for a motivated Part-Time Automotive Fitter / Auto Electrical Assistant to join our growing vehicle fit-out team.

This is a great opportunity to take what you're learning through your trade training and apply it to real commercial vehicles and fleet fit-outs.

What you'll be doing

Depending on your skills and experience, you'll get exposure to:

• Installing shelving, drawers, service bodies and vehicle accessories

• Automotive electrical installations

• Wiring, lighting and electrical accessories

• Installing batteries, switches, outlets and other electrical equipment

• Vehicle fit-out and component assembly

• Using hand and power tools

• Reading basic drawings and installation instructions

• Learning Vquip's installation standards and processes

• Quality checking completed installations

• Working as part of a professional fitting team

You don't need to know everything already. We're interested in someone with the right attitude who wants to learn and develop their practical skills.

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in people who are:

• Studying Auto Electrical, Automotive, Mechanical Engineering or a related field

• Interested in developing a career in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry

• Practical and mechanically minded

• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools

• Reliable and keen to work

• Able to follow instructions and safety procedures

• Quality-focused and proud of their work

• Comfortable working as part of a team

• Interested in learning from experienced tradespeople

Previous workshop, automotive, electrical or mechanical experience is highly regarded but not essential.
