We are a friendly and professional ophthalmology practice seeking a Casual Ophthalmology Technician / Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys patient interaction, works well in a medical environment, and is keen to learn.

This is a dual role combining front-desk reception duties with clinical support for our ophthalmologists and optometrists. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

• Welcoming patients and managing appointments

• Answering phone calls and handling enquiries

• Patient billing, payments, and Medicare/private health claims

• Assisting with ophthalmic testing (e.g. visual acuity, OCT, visual fields – training provided)

• Preparing patients for consultations

• Maintaining accurate patient records

• General administrative and clinic support duties

• Friendly, professional, and well-presented

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Comfortable working with patients of all ages

• Good computer and organisational skills

• Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment

• Reliable and a team player

• Experience in a medical or allied health practice

• Previous receptionist or customer service experience

• Experience with ophthalmic testing (e.g. visual acuity, OCT, visual fields)

• Interest in healthcare or eye health

• Experience with medical software (Xestro – if applicable)

• Supportive and welcoming team environment
