Procurement & Project Specialist

SI Retail has been supporting the Australian retail industry for over 50 years with innovative off-the-shelf shop fittings, point-of-sale accessories, retail displays and custom solutions across joinery, metalwork and acrylic.

 As a trusted partner to many of Australia's leading retailers and brands, SI Retail specialises in designing, developing, sourcing, and delivering custom retail products manufactured offshore to the highest quality and standards.

 Reporting to Head of Strategic Projects, this newly created hands-on role, will be responsible for managing the day-to-day process of custom projects from concept to delivery, including some possible travel and onsite management as required.  You will play a crucial role in ensuring our products and services are fit-for-purpose and we delivery on time, and budget. You will also assist with setting up process and policies internally to help streamline the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage products and projects from the concept stage to launch, or customer hand-over

• Manage the internal and external RFQ process across vendors and partners

• Negotiate Pricing, Project Schedules, Logistics with multiple vendors

• Establish accurate product costings and complete landed cost models to maintain margin and business expectations

• Develop project timelines and maintain milestone schedules to ensure we deliver on time

• Source new suppliers and manufacturing partners as required

• Coordinate and support quality control processes throughout production and escalate any risks to Head of Projects

• Work with New Product Team to help identify and implement new products for SI Retail catalogue items

 Skills & Experience

• The ideal candidate will possess a minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement, projects, product development, or supply chain roles.

• Experience working with overseas manufacturers, preferably within China

• Strong project management and organisational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Commercially minded with strong negotiation skills and a can-do attitude

• Strong attention to detail

Highly Desirable

• Bilingual (English/Mandarin)

• Experience within retail products, merchandising techniques, packaging, displays, shopfitting, or promotional products

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality assurance procedures

• Experience working with ERP, inventory, or project management systems

• Experience working directly with China-based manufacturers and suppliers
