Occupational Therapist/Social Worker/Psychologist | Mental Health

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mental Health Professional

As a Multidisciplinary Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychologist within the Noarlunga mental health unit, you will join a team delivering meaningful care to people who need it most. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Team Manager, you will work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary mental health team, bringing the depth of your discipline to shared clinical goals.

Duties for the role will include:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments across a range of presentations, including risk assessment, psychosocial history, and functional evaluation, to inform diagnosis and care planning
• Developing, implementing, and reviewing individualised, recovery-oriented care plans in genuine partnership with consumers and their families or support networks
• Delivering discipline-specific therapeutic interventions — occupational, psychological, or social — within a structured clinical framework, adjusting approaches to meet the needs of each consumer
• Coordinating care pathways across inpatient, community, and external service environments to support safe, well-planned transitions and reduce avoidable readmissions
• Providing consultation, secondary support, and clinical advice to other team members and external service providers on complex cases
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with SA Health standards, contributing to audits, clinical reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Actively participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, handovers, and case conferences to ensure cohesive, well-coordinated consumer care
• You will be supported through regular discipline specific supervision, with opportunities for professional development, reflective practice and shared learning within an experienced multidisciplinary team.

About you:

• Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist.
• Experience working with people who have a mental illness, their families and/or carers
• Experience in collaborative development, implementation and monitoring of planned interventions for consumers of mental health services with complex needs.
• Must be highly motivated and have the ability to engage with consumers who have very high service needs.
• Ability to undertake comprehensive assessment skills including, consumer needs analysis, assessment skills in mental state and risk assessment.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage time and other resources.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to express complex ideas succinctly and logically.
