Truck and Trailer Mechanic

Torque & Thermal are a family owned business currently seeking Diesel Fitters, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, and Truck Mechanics to join our growing team in Pemulwuy, Sydney.

This is a full-time opportunity offering a field service role.

We specialise in diesel vehicles, trucks, refrigerated trailers, and have built a strong reputation across a wide range of industries. Our team brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience, and we’re looking for someone who can contribute to that, while also being confident working autonomously.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, servicing and repairs across a wide range of equipment including trucks, trailers, light diesel vehicles

• Carry out breakdown repairs both in the depot and out in the field

• Work independently on field service jobs and manage workflow efficiently

• Take ownership of jobs from start to finish, including fault finding, parts identification, and job completion

• Complete accurate job notes, work orders, and reporting to a high standard

• Assist with parts sourcing, ordering, and quoting where required

• Support and help train apprentices and junior staff

• Follow all safety procedures and depot standards

• Support the team to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Diesel Fitter, HV Mechanic or Truck Mechanic

• Strong diagnostic ability (we’re not looking for parts changers)

• Ability to work both independently 

• Strong attention to detail, especially around work orders, job notes, and overall job ownership

• Comfortable taking accountability for jobs, including basic admin tasks like parts ordering and quoting

• Experience across a variety of equipment is highly regarded

• Own tools required

• HR licence and forklift ticket highly regarded but not essential

• Good attitude, reliable, and takes pride in their work
