About the role
Aurora Training Institute is a progressive Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that specialises in delivering quality training solutions. We are currently seeking a Trainer and Assessor in Gold Coast across the areas of Community Services, Individual Support, and Health Services/Admin. Applicants with a Registered Nurse credential will be highly regarded during the selection process. We are open to discussing both full-time and casual opportunities, depending on the candidate's experience, availability, and suitability for the role.
Reporting to Training Management, you will manage a student case load using a variety of delivery models and will be responsible for achieving outstanding results with our clients and students.
The successful applicant will have:
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment - TAE40116. Alternatively, you must be enrolled into a TAE40116 or TAE40122 and will be training under supervision until completion.
Qualification(s) and certifications to train and assess in the specified areas.
Demonstrated current and relevant experience. Preferably the right candidate for this position will have at least 3 years industry experience including experience in:
Working in an aged care or disability facilities and/or any other rehabilitation/support facility
Experience in working with people with disabilities (mental health, dementia, ageing etc.)
Experience in applying basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control in a proper facility
Preferably hold a first aid qualification
Operating Individual support equipment and providing support in diverse range of contexts (patients beds, hoist, changing continence aids, dressing and feeding patients etc.)
A 'can do' positive approach to training
A self-motivated, resilient, energetic and self-assured attitude
Confidence in dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders
Knowledge or experience within the training industry
Current Blue Card (required prior to appointment - see below)
Driver's license and own vehicle
You will be expected to:
Directly manage a student case load
Meet key performance measures relating to learner progress, engagement and course outcomes
Maintain the highest levels of quality and ethics in everything you do

As this role may involve direct contact with students under the age of 18, the successful applicant will be required to hold, or be eligible to obtain, a valid Blue Card prior to commencement. This requirement forms part of Aurora’s commitment to child safe recruitment practices and ensuring appropriate screening is completed for roles involving children and young people.
As part of Aurora’s onboarding process, the successful applicant will also be required to complete an internal Child Safety and Wellbeing professional development module.
What Aurora Offers:
Salary will be set in accordance with MA000075 – Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award 2020 (rates effective 1 July 2025). The indicative Award salary range is Level 2 ($66,523.66) to Level 7 ($75,528.08) per annum (excluding super), with classification aligned to the successful candidate's skills and experience
Vehicle allowance (where applicable) from $5,200 per annum
