Pacific Marine Group is looking for an experienced Marine Manager to lead our Marine Department and take responsibility for the performance of our fleet, our people and our marine operations.

Forming part of PMG's broader leadership team, we are looking for someone who knows marine operations inside and out – but who can also step beyond the day-to-day, build a strong team, make good commercial decisions and continually look for ways to develop & grow the operation.

The Opportunity

As Marine Manager, you'll take overall responsibility for the leadership, operational performance, maintenance, compliance and strategic direction of PMG's Marine Department.

You'll take the lead on:

• The safe, efficient and profitable performance of PMG's fleet and marine operations
• Fleet utilisation, operational readiness and resource planning
• Successful delivery of marine projects and marine support to broader business projects
• Leadership, development, succession and performance of our marine workforce
• Fleet maintenance strategy, asset lifecycle management, docking, slipping and major maintenance programs
• Marine compliance, vessel certification, surveys and statutory requirements
• Marine budgets, forecasting and operational performance
• Client relationships and new marine business opportunities
• Building a culture of accountability, safety and continual improvement across the Marine Department
  

This is a role with real ownership. You'll be close enough to the operation to understand what's happening on the vessels, while having the influence to make decisions that shape PMG's wider marine strategy.

About You

We're looking for an established marine leader who can move comfortably between the bridge, the boardroom and the operational detail.

You'll ideally bring:

• 10+ years' experience within the marine industry across Australia and/or the Pacific Rim
• A tertiary qualification in engineering, mechanical or marine, or equivalent industry experience
• Demonstrated experience leading marine operations, vessels and people
• Strong knowledge of marine safety, regulatory and operational compliance
• Experience across vessel maintenance, surveys, docking/slipping and asset management
• Strong commercial acumen, including budgets and operational performance
• The ability to build trusted relationships with crews, clients and stakeholders
• A practical, confident and adaptable leadership style
