Experienced Breakfast/Lunch Chef

About the role

We're looking for an passionate experienced, highly capable full-time chef to join our kitchen team at a busy, high-volume beachfront venue serving breakfast and lunch. Someone who genuinely thrives when the pressure is on. We opened in December 2023 and are growing fast, we are looking for staff who are willing to help us reach our potential

Located on the Beautiful Rockingham foreshore, Rowdy's cafe has established its self as much loved local cafe/restaurant, where locals and new patrons enjoy fantastic coffee and a relaxed drinking and dining experience.

Our menu is fresh focused, excellent quality produce and we pride ourselves on making as many items as possible in house, sauces, chutneys, jams and all of our cabinet food. We are famous locally for our in house crumpets!

We Currently are trading 5 days a week. Wednesday to Sunday 7am-2.30pm, but are looking to increase to 7 days for the busy summer ahead with the right staff in place.

In 2025 Rowdy's Cafe won the RKCC peoples choice award and this year we have been nominated for best tourism hospitality venue in Rockingham Kwinana regional awards in September.

We are small but committed team. We value teamwork, looking after each other and having fun at work. We are passionate about delivering exceptional service and a consistent dining experience for our guests.

Your key responsibilities

• Have a genuine passion for food and produce

• Confident in all sections during high-volume service

• Run your kitchen section, organisation, preparation, station set up, quality control and presentation

• Maintain strong plating and consistency

• Ensure excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

• Communicate well and work as a team player

• Deliver fast, organised service while remaining calm under pressure

• Design specials, be creative!

• Help train and support junior kitchen staff as needed

• Assist with stock control and ordering at times

About you

• Experienced chef with strong commercial kitchen experience

• Excellent breakfast and lunch experience

• Able to confidently run a section during high-volume service

• Cabinet food experience

• A team player who communicates well

• Reliable and professional with a great attitude

• Able to hit the ground running — no time to train from scratch

• Be available to work weekends, busy period and public holidays
