We're looking for an experienced Laboratory Supervisor (2IC) - Senior CMT Technician to join our Darwin Laboratory. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Materials Testing professional who enjoys mentoring others, maintaining high technical standards and playing a key role in laboratory operations.

🔬 About the Role

Reporting to the Darwin Branch Leader, you'll coordinate the day-to-day operations of our laboratory while leading by example to ensure quality, productivity and exceptional customer service.

This is a hands on role suited to someone with strong technical capability, leadership skills and a commitment to quality and safety.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating daily laboratory testing activities and sample workflow.
• Conducting laboratory and field testing in accordance with Australian Standards.
• Performing equipment checks, maintenance and calibrations.
• Producing accurate test results and reports within required timeframes.
• Providing technical guidance, mentoring and training to technicians and trainees.
• Assisting with resource planning and laboratory productivity.
• Managing client testing requests and responding to technical enquiries.
• Maintaining technical control over laboratory testing processes.
• Promoting and maintaining a safe, clean and organised laboratory.

✅ What We're Looking For

• Minimum 4 years' experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT).
• Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.
• Current Australian Manual Driver's Licence.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards for laboratory testing.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Previous NATA Signatory experience is highly regarded.
