Veterinarian Practice Manager

Macison Capability Partners are proud to be recruiting for a Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day running of a well-established veterinary practice in Toowong, a business where culture isn’t a poster on the wall, it’s how the team actually operates.

This is a genuine leadership role. You’ll manage the operational rhythm of the practice, including but not limited to; rostering, stock and compliance, but the real work is people.

You’ll be the trusted advocate between the team and leadership, the calm voice in a busy day, and the person who makes sure everyone, team members, clients and patients, feels genuinely looked after.

What You’ll Own

• Connection first: building the relationships that let trust, and great care, happen. You’re the antenna to the tail, sensing what the team and clients need before it becomes a problem.
• Team leadership: coaching, mentoring and supporting vets, nurses and reception/customer service staff
• Culture and wellbeing: regular check-ins, conflict resolution, and building a psychologically safe, high-performing team
• Client experience: resolving concerns, monitoring feedback, and role-modelling service standards
• Deliberate consistency: great care doesn’t happen by accident, you’ll build it stone by stone, through the small choices made every day
• Operational judgement: managing supplier relationships, rostering and stock with an eye for what keeps the practice running smoothly
• Team development: onboarding, training and career development for the team

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience in practice management, operations or team leadership, previous veterinary experience not necessary; we’re looking for a leader with transferable skills, ideally from a customer-facing service environment

A track record coaching and developing a team, with kind accountability, honest enough to give feedback with care, and open enough to receive it with gratitude

Strong customer service instincts, with experience resolving client issues calmly and professionally

Solid business acumen, sound judgement on the day-to-day decisions that keep a practice running well, from supplier relationships to rostering and stock

Comfort with day-to-day operations

Curiosity and adaptability, every day and every situation is different, and you’re energised by understanding “why” before you act

A genuine, hands-on leadership style, calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and a real advocate for people

High personal accountability, and the ability to hold others to the same standard
