Boilermaker/Fitter/Machinist

About the role

Maxwell Engineering is seeking an experienced Boilermaker/Fitter/Machinist to join our dynamic team at our Hoppers Crossing facility in Victoria. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality fabrication and assembly solutions to our valued clients. As a skilled tradesperson, you will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for precision engineering and exceptional craftsmanship. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects utilising your expertise across boiler making, fitting, and machining disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fitting operations including aligning, assembling and securing components with precision and attention to detail

• Operate and maintain machining equipment to produce components to specified tolerances

• Conduct quality inspections and testing to ensure all work meets required standards and compliance requirements

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications accurately

• Prepare materials and plan work sequences to optimise efficiency and safety

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure project deadlines are met

• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment

What we're looking for

• Completed apprenticeship or formal qualification in boiler making, fitting, machining or a related trade

• Current or eligible for trade certification as a Boilermaker/Fitter/Machinist

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints

• Competence in operating traditional and CNC machining equipment

• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, fastening methods and assembly procedures

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel if required
