The Role:
The Maintenance Fitter is to ensure plant and machinery in designated areas is properly maintained and operating efficiently, whilst considering costs and the production schedule. The position requires a good understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance.
The shift times are:
Afternoon shift: 2.00pm – 10.15pm
Responsibilities:
Identifying faults and performing breakdown repairs to minimise downtime and micro-stops caused by production machinery and equipment.
Inspecting, testing and maintaining machinery, equipment in process and packaging areas.
Performing general plant and building maintenance work.
Undertaking specific project work upon request (e.g. building prototypes, refurbishing aging equipment and specific parts).
Perform assigned tasks in accordance with all Kraft Heinz Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical and Human Resources policies, programs and goals.
Uphold the Kraft Heinz values and to work in a way that contributes to the company's vision.
Required Skills:
Previous FMCG experience is required, ideally food or beverage manufacturing.
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
Ability to modify, replace and commission mechanical equipment within a GMP environment.
Extensive knowledge about fillers, closers, packaging equipment, palletisers and conveyor systems.
Extensive experience of servicing and overhauling various pump types.
Welding experience of aluminum, steel and stainless steel. MAW and TIG welding.
Able to use all workshop machines e.g. Lathes and milling machines.
Experience in repair and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Experience with automation or robotics is desired.
Computer skills (Microsoft suite, computerized maintenance management system).
Strong problem-solving analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Motivated worker with good attitude towards peers.
Qualifications:
Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (MEM30205).
Whist not mandatory the following qualifications will be highly regarded:
Welding (TIG, MAW), Welder Qualification AS 1796 Certificates 1 – 9.
Forklift license.
Restricted electrical license.
Confined space entry license.
White card certificate.
