Site Foreman

Skillset is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Foreman to join our client, a leading construction and manufacturing organisation operating across Australia and New Zealand. This exciting opportunity is located in Sydney, NSW and suited to a hands-on construction professional looking to further develop their project management career while contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating on-site activities, supervising subcontractors and trades and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. You will work closely with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders to support seamless project execution from commencement through to completion.

About You

You are an organised and solutions-focused construction professional with experience supervising projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Experience supervising construction projects or working in a leadership role such as Site Foreman, Junior Project Manager or Leading Hand
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
• Proven ability to effectively manage subcontractors, suppliers and tradespeople
• Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and site safety requirements
• White Card and current Driver Licence
• First Aid Certification, Forklift Licence and EWP Ticket highly regarded
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience using construction management software such as Primavera, Aconex or similar
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise day-to-day site operations
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, tradespeople and other industry professionals
• Organise labour resources and coordinate the timely delivery of materials, equipment and plant
• Review and analyse project documentation, drawings and specifications
• Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure quality, productivity and compliance standards are met
• Negotiate with subcontractors to maintain project schedules and budgets
• Ensure compliance with building legislation, safety regulations and company standards
• Coordinate inspections by local authorities and relevant stakeholders
• Track project progress and provide updates using construction management systems
• Assist in breaking projects into key phases and tasks to support efficient project delivery
• Contribute to the successful completion of projects within approved budgets and timeframes
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement across all project activities
