• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $133,348 up to $146,945 pa plus super

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative Senior Policy & Project Officer to join our Strategic Projects team in the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability (ECCS) Group. ECCS is focused on supplying NSW with reliable and affordable energy and supporting its transition to a sustainable energy future.

 

In this role, you will lead projects and provide policy advice that support ECCS staff wellbeing and engagement. You will work on meaningful projects that will continue our focus on leadership, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and workforce planning.

What you will be doing

As a Senior Project and Policy Officer, you will:

 

• Lead projects from planning through to delivery, review and reporting.
• Monitor project progress, manage risks and help ensure projects are delivered successfully.
• Develop and improve policies, strategies and programs that support ECCS priorities.
• Prepare clear and concise briefs, reports, submissions and presentations.
• Use research, analysis and stakeholder feedback to make informed recommendations and support good outcomes.
• Review policies, programs and regulations and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Build positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders across ECCS, the department, government and industry

About You

You may be a strong candidate if you have experience in:

 

• Project management, policy development or government programs.
• Preparing reports, briefings or advice for senior stakeholders.
• Building positive working relationships with a range of people.
• Researching complex issues and developing practical solutions.
• Communicating complex information in a clear and accessible way.
• Managing competing priorities and delivering work within deadlines.
• Analysing information and making evidence-based recommendations.

Essential Requirements

 

• Demonstrated experience in project and/or policy management in the context of contemporary government policies and community attitudes.
• Superior demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills influencing high level decision makers and key stakeholders to take action and deliver agreed outcomes.
• A degree in a relevant discipline.
