About the Role
Bengong’s Tea is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to make their mark and shape the future of a growing food manufacturing business. You will provide guidance and technical leadership in the development, execution, and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System.
As a key member of our team, you will promote a strong food safety culture across the production floor and ensure consistent product quality. You will guide the business through the implementation phase and successfully lead us to our first food safety certification audit.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System within the organisation.
Create and maintain QA documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and product specifications, etc.
Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant food safety standards and statutory requirements.
Manage site audit readiness and coordinate both internal audits and external audits.
Plan and manage factory cleaning and pest control programmes across production and warehouse areas to ensure hygiene
Investigate customer complaints and product non-conformances, driving root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and execute process improvements that enhance efficiency and product consistency.
Deliver mandatory food safety training to production staff to foster a strong food safety culture within the organisation.
Promote food safety and quality awareness across all teams on the production floor.
What we're looking for
A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of food manufacturing QA experience.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and related food safety management systems.
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing a Quality Management System.
Proven experience in leading internal and external audits.
Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Prior experience in bakery manufacturing is highly regarded.
