AHP1 Physiotherapist

Join our Physiotherapy Team at SALHN!

Working across inpatient and outpatient settings at Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Hospital, you will deliver evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and treatment to a diverse patient population.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Physiotherapy Manager, this role is responsible for the assessment and management of patients which results in improved patient care and outcomes.

Duties for the role will include:

• Undertake appropriate physiotherapy assessments and making valid interpretations of assessment findings based on sound clinical reasoning.
• Formulate and implement appropriate physiotherapy intervention plans based on assessment findings and knowledge of best practice and evidence based care.
• Prioritise own workload according to agreed principles, and contributing to workload management within the Department to meet highest priority needs for Physiotherapy service within FMC on a daily basis.
• Actively engaging patients and carers in developing and implementing their care plans and discharge arrangements
• Be actively involved in service and clinical practice improvement activities and projects
• Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.

About you:

• Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
• Physiotherapy skills in the assessment and management of patients with a broad range of conditions relevant to SALHN and the Physiotherapy Department.
• Well developed and effective written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to relate to people of various ages, cultures and backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and effective as a team member.
• Physical strength, flexibility and endurance sufficient for the manual handling requirements of the Physiotherapy Work Unit and out of hours work.
• Ability to organise self, set priorities and manage time effectively.
