About the role

We are seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join the team at Nick Logan Pharmacist Advice in Artarmon, NSW. At this time we can offer 3-4 week days (25-32 hours/week) and occasional weekend shifts. Experience in community pharmacy is welcome but we are prepared to train the right candidate from scratch. This is a part-time position that offers the perfect opportunity to develop your career in the pharmacy sector whilst maintaining flexibility in your working schedule. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and assisting our pharmacists in delivering quality healthcare services to our community. This position is integral to maintaining the smooth running of our pharmacy and contributing to our mission of providing exceptional pharmaceutical care.

About the business

We are a small community pharmacy with a big reputation. We practice "forward dispensing" where our pharmacists process scripts while seated with the customers in the store. Team work is essential to our work flow and we currently have a tight knit and supportive team. Our service-based model has previously won us the Australian Pharmacy of the Year. We have a very close relationship with our community and local health care practitioners.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting customers with over-the-counter medication queries and providing general health and wellness information under the supervision of the pharmacist

• Receiving, unpacking, and organising deliveries of pharmaceutical stock and ensuring accurate inventory management

• Processing customer payments and managing point-of-sale transactions with accuracy and attention to detail

• Maintaining a clean, hygienic and organised pharmacy environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

• Restocking shelves with over-the-counter medications and health products, ensuring products are displayed clearly and safely

• Supporting the pharmacist with administrative duties, including filing prescriptions and maintaining patient records

• Building positive relationships with customers and providing friendly, professional customer service at all times

• Career progression to working as a dispensary technician

• Assisting with general pharmacy duties as directed by the pharmacist and pharmacy manager

What we're looking for

• A keen interest in pharmacy and healthcare, with a genuine desire to support customers and contribute to their wellbeing

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to process transactions accurately

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, pharmacists and colleagues

• Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic, with flexibility to work part-time hours as scheduled

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations

• Previous retail or healthcare experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided

• Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues in a collaborative pharmacy environment
