Registered Nurse

The East Corrimal Medical Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse to join our friendly team. Our practice offers a professional, supportive and collaborative working environment, with an experienced team committed to providing high-quality patient care. This 3 day per week casual position, is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse who values teamwork, enjoys working within General Practice and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Vaccinations

• Maintaining up to date Health Assessments and Care Plans for our patient population in clinic and at RACF.

• Assisting with patient education and community health promotion activities

• Assisting doctors with clinical procedures; planning and management of patient care and patient advocacy

• Maintaining clinical documentation

• Maintaining awareness of OH&S and legislation to ensure business is complying with all statutory and regulatory obligations including infection control, sterilisation, hazardous materials & safe handling/disposal of medical waste and stock control

• Acting within practice and nursing code of ethics and appropriate level of clinical competence

• Complying with patient confidentiality and privacy obligations

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Appropriate tertiary qualification & registration certificate

• Professional indemnity cover

• Demonstrated understanding of needs of general practice and patient-focused approach in service provision

• Knowledge of current immunisation schedules, diabetes management, asthma management, infection control, triage, and enhanced primary care

• Current NSW Working With Children Check

• Current NSW Police Check

Desirable:

• Minimum of one years nursing experience

• Additional qualifications such as Accredited Women's Health Certificate, Diabetes Education Certificate, Asthma/Spirometry qualification

• Member of APNA

• Previous experience with health assessments, care plans and cycles of care.
