Mogalakwena - Auto Electrical Technical Specialist

About the Project

We are seeking experienced Auto Electricians for our Mogalakwena Underground Project in South Africa. We are interested in people who are passionate about sharing their skills and knowledge of Australian Mining methods and processes to transfer to the South African workforce. The Mogalakwena Mine is situated 30 kilometres north-west of the town of Mokopane in the province of Limpopo.

• Comply with all Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures, including reporting best practices for the areas of maintenance and servicing;
• Liaison with Shift Supervisors and key stakeholders to ensure optimization of site equipment;
• Equipment maintenance, inspections and reporting;
• Reporting on daily and weekly activity to Shift Supervisor;
• Completing breakdown maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor or from Work Order instructions, including attending to call outs when rostered ‘Duty on Call’;
• Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations and the service sheet;
• Actively participate in all safety activities and safety meetings;
• Working safely at all times, using correct personal protective equipment and following safety procedures;
• Ensuring relevant environmental considerations are considered from work orders, particularly hydrocarbon management (oil spills etc); and
• Demonstrate, develop and transfer all relevant skills to local site personnel on all aspects of Automotive electrical work. 

Key Requirements

• Underground heavy mobile equipment experience
• Must have Sandvik Automine experience 
• Trade certificate (auto electrical) or equivalent.
• Experience working as an expatriate will be highly regarded.
• 5+ years working in an underground mining environment
• Ability & willingness to transfer/mentor their skills & knowledge to South African personnel
• All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates & licenses
• Adherence to all company safety standards, policies and procedures.
