About the role

We are seeking experienced Boilermakers and Trades Assistants to join our growing team at our Parkhurst, QLD facility. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on diverse projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will be supporting our boilermaking and welding operations, contributing to the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of various items of equipment and structural steelwork. This role is integral to maintaining our high standards of quality and safety across all projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with the fabrication, assembly, and welding of boilers, pressure vessels, and structural components

• Preparing materials and work areas in accordance with project specifications and safety requirements

• Operating and maintaining welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in optimal working condition

• Following technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to produce components to precise specifications

• Performing quality checks and inspections to ensure work meets company standards and regulatory requirements

• Supporting experienced boilermakers in fitting, assembling, and testing of completed vessels and structures

• Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and company procedures

• Contributing to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop

What we're looking for

• Trade qualifications or relevant experience in boilermaking, welding, or related trades

• Demonstrated proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding

• Sound understanding of technical drawings and the ability to work to precise specifications

• Experience with hand and power tools relevant to fabrication and assembly work

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Excellent health and safety awareness with a proactive approach to workplace safety

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from senior tradespeople

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in a workshop environment

• Valid driver's licence (desirable)

• Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
