• Salary range: $69,823 to $73,188 p.a. (OO3)
• 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity:

This position is responsible for cooking and assists in the provision for optimal nutritional care for patients at Townsville University Hospital, by providing appropriate nutrition in accordance with established dietary standards and working closely with Dietetic-Nutritionists and food service staff. This position has a strong emphasis on food safety regulations in accordance with Australia and New Zealand Food Safety Authority (ANFSA).

The department comprises approximately 105 staff.

Requirements:

• Possession of trade-based qualification or demonstrated comparable level of competency-based skills in professional and dietary cooking in a health care setting would be desirable for this position.
• Highly desirable: Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
• The appointee to this position will be required to carry out frequent and repetitive lifting and manual handling of goods.
• The position is subject to flexible roster arrangements that may include a periodic requirement for work on weekends and evenings.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
• Probation period may apply.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
