Storeperson

About the role

Shepherd is looking for Storepeople to join our team in Mitchell, ACT. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our warehousing and distribution operations. As a Storeperson, you will be responsible for managing inventory, organising stock, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our warehouse facility.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving, checking, and recording incoming stock and materials against delivery documentation

• Storing items in designated locations using appropriate storage methods and organisation systems

• Picking and packing orders accurately according to customer requirements and warehouse procedures

• Maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular stock counts

• Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently

• Identifying and reporting damaged or defective stock items

• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

• Assisting with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles

• Following all company procedures and relevant legislation related to workplace safety and storage

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a warehouse, storage, or distribution environment

• Ability to operate materials handling equipment with a current Forklift Licence

• Strong organisational and attention to detail skills

• Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• Reliability and a strong work ethic

• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and commitment to maintaining workplace safety standards

• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities

• Electrical knowledge and experience desirable

• Rigging desirable
