Civil Drafter

About the role

Dykman Consulting are looking for an experienced Civil Drafter for an immediate start. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Milton, QLD. The drafter will be responsible for preparing sketches, plans, and designs for civil engineering works with precision and accuracy, ensuring that the technical drawings serve as the blueprint for the construction and implementation of various infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare sketches, plans, and designs for civil engineering works with precision and accuracy, ensuring that the technical drawings serve as the blueprint for the construction and implementation of various infrastructure projects

• Produce and revise civil engineering drawings on a daily basis to support the drafting process and facilitate the creation of detailed technical drawings for civil engineering projects

• Estimate material costs, ensure compliance with specifications and regulations, adhere to project timelines and milestones for delivering drafts and revisions

• Maintain a high level of productivity and accuracy to meet performance targets and project deadlines

• Interpret work assignment instructions and collaborate closely with civil engineers and other team members to ensure alignment with project objectives

• Communicate progress and address any design or technical challenges that arise

• Showcase proficiency in CAD software by creating detailed and precise drawings that accurately depict civil engineering designs

• Apply knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, and regulations, along with proficiency in drafting standards and practices, to produce drawings that meet industry standards, project specifications, and client requirements

About you

• Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma with 1-3 years of Full Time work experience

• At least four years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above

• Proficiency in CAD software

• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, and regulations

• Proficiency in drafting standards and practices
