About the role
Global Retail Brands, Australia's largest specialty homewares retailer, is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Head Office team on St Kilda Road. This is a fantastic 6-month contract opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced and growing business with over 300 stores nationwide.
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager you will work in a team of 4 to process the national fortnightly payroll of approximately 1800 staff.
About the role:Reporting into the Payroll Team Lead, this role is ideal for a fast-paced individual looking to grow their career within payroll. This role will collaborate across multiple divisions within the organization, delivering comprehensive payroll support to ensure smooth operations.
Key responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:Setup of new employees in relevant HR & Payroll systemsMaintain & update employee details in relevant HR & Payroll systemsPreparation of timesheets and active importsEnd to end payroll managementPay adjustments, backpays, termination paymentsSuperannuation, Payroll Tax and PAYGWorkcover payments & reconciliationsAward interpretationEnsure compliance in line with appropriate legislation, regulations, policy and proceduresFortnightly/monthly reportingProject workProvide employee support with time recording system (Humanforce)Manage queries from internal and external stakeholdersAd hoc reports & duties as requiredSupport to the Payroll Manager
Skills and ExperienceApproximately 5 years’ experience in similar positionMicropay Meridian and/or Humanforce experience preferredStrong knowledge of applicable awards, legislation and other statutory requirementsKnowledge of the General Retail Industry Award (Advantageous)Proven ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExceptional accuracy and attention to detailImmediate Start, Full time
The Successful ApplicantTo be considered for this position you will need to have a strong knowledge of payroll with a minimum of 3 years’ experience performing end-to-end payroll within a high-volume environment.
Possessing a strong work ethic, you will excel being a proactive member of a friendly payroll team who is able to work in a team, and autonomously. You will have excellent time management and communication skills and possess a high level of attention to detail, along with a high standard of accuracy.
