About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our crucial support team as an Activity and Lifestyle Assistant at Bert Newton Village in Highett. This is a Part Time position working Saturday to Wednesday 1000-1500 in our Specialist Dementia Unit.

We love when our lifestyle assistants use their creative flair to make a tangible difference in the lives of our residents. This is a diverse role, and no two days are the same! You will:

• Promote happiness, wellbeing, and quality of life for all residents 
• Work closely with the activities team to ensure our events calendar runs smoothly
• Run our resident bingo - it sure is a fan favourite
• Assist in the delivery of various workshops, social and craft activities. Anything from bake offs, fashion shows and even floristry demonstrations, active games and exercise, interactive quizzes and musical activities 
• Accompany residents on various outings

About You

To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have: 

• Strong empathy
• Outstanding communication skills
• A creative flair you're not afraid to let shine
• Certificate III/IV in Leisure & Lifestyle is desired (but not essential for the right candidate)
