Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures the residents’ physical health and comfort is maintained by providing routine and non-routine clinical care

• Ensures that families are fully informed about issues relating to their relative

• Ensures that communication between peers and staff is upheld and fostered to ensure duties are performed accurately and holistically

• Contributes to the effective functioning of the team by sharing clinical knowledge and skills

• Contributes to the operation of the shift by working co-operatively and collaboratively with the other members of the team

• Medication Assistance and Administration

• Practice duty of care, and promote personal safety and risk management

• Promote dignity of risk which empowers residents’ choices and independence

• Work in collaboration with internal and external service providers to provide clinical solutions

• Adhere to policies and procedures during the normal course of carrying out duties and responsibilities

Skills and Experience

• Current nursing registration with AHPRA

• Previous Aged Care and/or  Hospital experience highly regarded

• The ability to supervise, delegate and work as part of a team

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
