At The Distillery, we design, print and craft spectacular creative print projects – specialising with embellished techniques such as letterpress, foil and embossing.

Powered by old-school letterpress technology, we focus on quality, teamwork and process to bring to life creatively luxurious stationery and packaging for people, businesses and luxury brands who value tangibility, meaning and connection.

Build your career

The Printmaking Traineeship is designed to develop commercial craft-production skills, serving as a solid launch pad for a rewarding career as a creative professional.

During the traineeship, you will be trained to become highly proficient in core aspects of craft manufacturing and letterpress printmaking.

Technical areas of development include paper stocks, inks, foils, plates, box-making, craft process, and heritage and modern printing press equipment.

Drawing on your design education and problem-solving skills, you will work towards learning to letterpress print with Heidelberg platen printing presses.

Training through Employment

You must be available 4 to 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.

You may be employed as a permanent employee under the Graphic Arts, Printing and Publishing Award with a three month probationary period.

Desirable Background

While we value diverse experiences, the following are highly regarded:

• A tertiary degree in Design or closely related field.
• A portfolio of self-initiated paper craft or analog design projects.
