About the business
Tablelands Sexual Assault Service (TSAS) is a specialist sexual assault service providing free, trauma informed counselling, advocacy and prevention service on the Atherton Tablelands in FNQ. The workspace is beautiful and the culture is respectful, inclusive, warm and flexible. TSAS provides service delivery across the local rural/ remote region.
About the role
As a sexual assault counsellor you will be providing counselling, advocacy and support to children, young people and adults whose lives are affected by sexual abuse and/or sexual violence. This role includes opportunities to work collaboratively with the team on awareness raising, prevention and education initiatives. We are looking for a passionate and courageous team player who isn't afraid to laugh and is interested in helping people to be safe and reclaim their lives.
TSAS has a culture of continuous learning and improvement which is characterised by a commitment to ongoing professional development, knowledge sharing, and a mindset that embraces critical reflection and growth. We offer ongoing external and internal supervision and skill development.
Skills and experience
You MUST have a tertiary qualification in Social Work/ Psychology/ Counselling or similar and a valid blue card and drivers license. We prefer someone with counselling experience, but are willing to provide training and support to someone who is passionate about trauma informed and relational practice, justice and equality.
