About Index AcademyIndex Academy is a welcoming learning centre located directly across from Mount Waverley Station. We provide personalised tutoring from Year 3 through to VCE, with every class capped at four students.
Our small-class approach allows tutors to understand each student, adapt their teaching and build meaningful relationships while helping students make genuine academic progress.
About the roleWe are looking for passionate and knowledgeable tutors to join our growing team.Current opportunities include:• Mathematics: Years 3–10, VCE Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics• English: Years 3–10 and VCE English• Science: VCE Biology and PhysicsTutors may apply to teach one or more subjects and year levels based on their experience and areas of expertise.
Key responsibilities• Plan and deliver clear, engaging and personalised lessons• Adapt teaching methods to each student’s needs and learning style• Monitor student understanding and academic progress• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement• Communicate professionally with parents and the Index Academy team• Help create a positive, supportive and focused learning environment
What we’re looking for• Strong knowledge of your nominated subject areas• Relevant teaching qualifications, university studies or demonstrated subject expertise• Experience working with students from Years 3–12• Clear and confident communication skills• Patience, empathy and the ability to build rapport with students• Reliability, professionalism and a genuine commitment to student success• A current Victorian Working with Children Check, VIT registration or willingness to meet the applicable requirements
