About the role
To lead, supervise and coordinate on-site installation teams in the installation of items, including but not limited, to fabricated structures, balustrades, handrails, glazing and various metalworks items. The role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently and to required quality standards, in accordance with company policies and client requirements.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of installers, tradespersons and labourers.
• Act as the on-site Supervisor, coordinating labour, tasks and workflow
• Conduct daily pre-starts, toolbox talks and ensure SWMS/JSEA are implemented with the RMF installation teams and participate in coordination of daily meetings, HSE walks and other daily activities as agreed with the client.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, site rules and company safety systems
• Enforce correct use of PPE and safe work practices at all times
• Interpret and work from drawings, job sheets, specifications and schedules
• Monitor productivity, workmanship and timelines, escalating issues where required
• Assist the site team with hands-on tasks based on skills and competencies.
• Carry out quality checks and ensure defects are rectified promptly
• Identify hazards, manage risks and report incidents, near misses and unsafe practices
• Coordinate deliveries, loading/unloading and safe movement of materials and frames
• Ensure waste handling and housekeeping meet environmental and site standards
• Complete and submit accurate timesheets, job records and reports
• Perform set outs for installed products
• Maintain professional conduct and represent the company positively on site
Reports to the Construction Manager. Provides direct supervision to employees as delegated, consistent with Supervisor responsibilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & LICENCES• Relevant trade qualification or Engineering degree.
• Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, carpentry or metal trades environment
• Current full Australian Driver's License (mandatory)
• Construction White Card (mandatory for site work)
• Rigging certification (desirable)
High Risk Work Licenses such as EWP or Forklift (desirable)
• First Aid certification (desirable)
• Strong technical trade skills in metal fabrication, carpentry, installation
• Demonstrated leadership and team coordination capability
• Sound understanding of WHS obligations and duty of care
• Ability to plan work, prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines
• Strong communication skills with workers, management, and clients
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability in dynamic site environments
• Computer literacy for job tracking, reporting and communication
• Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience required.
