An influential role within a supportive, high-performing team. About the Role As a proactive and detail-oriented Import & Logistics Specialist, managing the end-to-end flow of international merchandise entering Australia, y ou will be responsible for ensuring that a diverse, fast-moving range of retail products clears customs seamlessly and reaches stores on time.
You will act as the key anchor for regulatory compliance, tariff management, and stakeholder coordination across international shipping lines and domestic operations. Key Responsibilities Ensure all imported merchandise strictly adheres to Australian trade laws, including ABF and DAFF requirements.
Conduct regular trade compliance audits to manage risk. Review and audit merchandise for correct tariff classification to ensure accurate duty payments. Audit import documentation against in-house Purchase
Order (PO) systems for precision. Maintain real-time PO data to provide visibility across the supply chain. Issue shipping instructions and act as the primary liaison with global freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and customs brokers to expedite air and ocean freight.
Partner closely with internal Merchandise Operations regarding PO compliance, origins, unit counts, and delivery timelines. Identify opportunities to streamline trade compliance processes and deliver training on best practices to broader internal teams. Requirements & Experience:
You will thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment where accuracy and regulatory knowledge are essential. Proven experience in an Import Coordinator, Customs Specialist, or Inbound Logistics role. Deep understanding of Australian border laws, tariff classification, and ABF / DAFF regulatory requirements .
Demonstrated experience handling complex shipping documentation and PO management systems. Strong track record of managing relationships with freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and customs brokers. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
