We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially focused Cost Accountant to join our Finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for analysing and maintaining product costing information, monitoring manufacturing performance, supporting inventory management processes, and providing financial insights that drive informed business decisions.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing, operations, engineering, and supply chain teams while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Maintain and review standard costing systems and methodologies.
Analyse manufacturing costs, variances, labour efficiencies, and material usage.
Support monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities.
Assist with inventory management, stock valuations, and cycle count processes.
Investigate and report on cost variances and operational performance trends.
Partner with operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
Prepare financial analysis and reports to support decision-making.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects across finance and manufacturing operations.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a Cost Accountant, Management Accountant, or similar finance role.
Experience within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
A continuous improvement mindset and commercial awareness.
Australian work rights or a valid Australian work visa.
