About the role
Position Summary
The Laboratory Manager plays a key role in supporting the delivery of world-class research within UNSW Medicine & Health, ensuring the efficient, safe and effective operation of laboratory facilities across on-campus and UNSW-managed sites. Working within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, the role provides expert operational, technical and logistical support to researchers, enabling high-quality research outcomes.
The position is responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, maintaining research infrastructure and equipment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, laboratory practice and workplace health and safety requirements. The Laboratory Manager also supports the coordination of training, access to facilities, and the continuous improvement of systems, processes and service delivery.
Reporting to the Research Infrastructure Manager, the role contributes to a collaborative and high-performing research environment, providing advice on infrastructure, equipment and enterprise projects, and supporting the ongoing development of safe and sustainable laboratory practices.
