Our client is a long-established accounting and advisory firm with over 30 years of experience supporting small to medium-sized businesses across Southeast Queensland. With multiple office locations and a broad service offering spanning tax, business advisory, bookkeeping and audit, the firm is recognised for delivering practical, high-quality accounting solutions across a diverse client base. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to step into a leadership role, overseeing Junior and Intermediate Accountants while maintaining hands-on involvement in client work and technical delivery. You will work closely with senior leadership to support workflow management, client outcomes and team development within a structured and supportive environment. 

The Role: 

• Lead, mentor and support Junior and Intermediate Accountants to ensure strong performance and development 

• Oversee client work including financial statements, tax returns and compliance engagements 

• Review work for accuracy, quality and adherence to accounting standards 

• Manage and maintain strong client relationships across a diverse portfolio 

• Support Partners and senior leadership on advisory, planning and strategic matters 

• Assist with workflow coordination and team task allocation 

• Ensure compliance with relevant taxation legislation and accounting standards 

• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team 

• Identify risks and support appropriate resolution in client engagements 

About You: 

• 5+ years’ experience in Australian public practice accounting 

• Proven supervisory or team leadership experience 

• Strong technical knowledge of tax, accounting standards and compliance requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA/CA preferred or in progress) 

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks 

• Strong communication and client relationship skills 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment 

• High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
