The Opportunity 

As a Team Lead, you’ll lead and develop a team of designers while owning delivery across intermediate and complex projects. You’ll plan and monitor design programs, verify technical outputs, manage resourcing, and help lift our design standards through continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. 

You will: 

• Lead, coach and engage a high-performing design team; set expectations and conduct performance reviews. 
• Plan, produce and track design programs to deliver quality outcomes on time and on budget. 
• Undertake detailed design and master planning; verify plans, reports and modelling for compliance and quality. 
• Manage resourcing and priorities; contribute in DTL, leadership, resourcing and budget meetings. 
• Drive QA, design standards and engineering innovation; support continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Build strong client and authority relationships; represent DCE professionally at meetings and industry events. 

About You (Skills, Experience & Qualifications) 

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent
• White Card certified 
• Approximately 5+ years’ experience in Civil Engineering
• Registered Engineer and Chartered Engineer (current) with MRWA DAS accreditation. 
• High technical capability in one or more specialist areas (e.g., sport, VicRoads, WSUD, complex modelling). 
• Proven team leadership (office/team management, coaching, performance reviews) and excellent communication. 
• Advanced ability to verify and sign plans as a Registered Engineer. 
• Permanent right to work in Australia.
