Sample Machinist - Garment Development

As the Sample Machinist, you will be responsible for sewing samples for the production of garments. This involves placing patterns on fabric and sewing the garments according to designer specifications. You will ensure fabric utilization is efficient and that the final sample meets the design, fit, and quality expectations. The role requires the ability to operate various sewing machines, understand fabric behaviours, and solve construction issues as they arise.

• Minimum Grade 11
• Relevant experience in garment sewing (clothing industry).
• Knowledge of fabric types and garment construction methods.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with designers, patternmakers, and other team members.
• Ability to work well within a team, contributing to the overall success of garment production.
• A meticulous approach to garment construction, ensuring that samples meet the highest quality standards.
• Quality-conscious, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet production deadlines.
