The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) is a community-controlled organisation committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people across Tasmania.
We are seeking a Health Administration Officer to join our Aboriginal Health Service team in Launceston and contribute to the delivery of culturally safe, holistic primary health care services for the Tasmanian Aboriginal community.
About This Role
The Health Administration Officer provides high-quality administrative, reception and client support services and is often the first point of contact for community members accessing health services. The role supports the effective coordination and delivery of Aboriginal Health Service programs and activities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide reception and client support services.
Respond to telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries.
Coordinate appointments, referrals and client transport.
Maintain client records and administrative systems.
Process Medicare, MAIB and DVA claims.
Assist with health promotion activities and community programs.
Support accreditation, compliance and quality improvement activities.
Contribute to a culturally safe and welcoming environment for community members.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience in administration or reception-based roles.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Sound organisational and time management skills.
Experience using computer systems and appointment scheduling software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to culturally safe service delivery.

Current Drivers Licence.
Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
Current National Police Check.
